Following graduation in December, I am embarking on a six week adventure
flying and driving across the lower southwestern U.S. (staying in the lower
southwest because of the anticipated winter weather).
The original motivation for the road trip was to see and photograph
as many natural wonders, national parks and monuments, state and city
parks, and scenic landscapes as possible (within the six week timeline
and my fear of driving in icy conditions). --Clearly a fear I will be
forced to overcome. A perpetual learner, my trip motives have
expanded to include a quest for wisdom and observation. I will
stay with family and friends along the way whenever possible; the prime
opportunity to learn their stories and build stronger connections with
great people.
I hope to see amazing and inspiring things, reconnect with old
friends, strengthen ties with new friends, always have a co-pilot, learn
the stories from people I spend time with along the way, document it
all, and pack as much fun into six weeks of traveling in a vehicle as
possible! A rare opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of
experience.
